As I had long suspected, Rev Bob is merely a shadowy ghost of his former glory. A total of 3 people showed up for the most recent show. Of course, there were actually more people in attendance. There was the bartender, the sound guy, members of other bands playing later that evening, and the Choir Member's spousal unit Susan was there also. And random staff from the other venue attached to the Prophet Bar passed through from time to time.

I think it's high time Rev Bob hangs up his preacher cleats. There just ain't no interest in his pithiness any more. But preachin is in my bones. What's a reverend to do?

I think I'll miss the spiritual orgies most of all.

Rare Live Appearance of RevBob

I must have been drunk or high when I agreed to it, but I will have an appearance during a show at The Prophet Bar on Saturday, September 25, 2010. Bryan Wakeland and Gary Deen will be performing and I also understand that David Johnson will be on stage that night as well.
I have been talked into doing an Inspirational Segment with the band and everything. If I don't back out of the deal before then, I will keep everyone posted on the details.
I'm hoping to break the record average attendance of all the shows I have been in during the last decade. I'm really hoping that at LEAST four people will show up. If less than that show up, I'll just sit in your lap and preach right into your face.

NAKED: The Only Safe Way to Fly

I said it almost 3 years ago on this very blog, and now it has come up again, but I say that the only safe way to fly is to fly NAKED! Security screening would be a breeze! People-watching at the airport could rise to a whole new level! It would provide great conversation starters with your fellow flyers, "Say, those look pretty real!", or "Man, you should see a doctor about that."

I have onced again been on an extended Hiatus. But I have been awakened by a sudden little burst of activitity from google.com. I am proud to have contributed to the slowdown of work as google workers appear to be passing around a link to this site, and I do hope they are enjoying their visits.

It would be really super great if some of the googlers perusing my site would select a RevBob video as a featured YouTube video.

I am sure Bob would pass his pity in puddles upon them for doing so.

It seems that I will be opening for a group of vagabond poet-musicians at the Sons of Hermann Hall in Deep Ellum, Dallas, Texas, USA, Earth on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 8:00pm. It is a tribute to a dear friend and fellow spiritual guider who passed away a few years ago. It is a collection of the poetry of Joe Stanco called "There Is Beauty in the Stars."

Fly Naked!

I have a solution for airline safety. The problem is just about anything can be used as a weapon these days. Why don’t we require that everybobdy fly naked? There wouldn’t be no hiding nothing from nobody. It would take a very determined person to conceal a weapon somewhere about their naked body, and they should be pretty easy to spot just by the way they walk. This idea came to me in a dream that Bob was downloading to me…in the dream I was on an airplane. I was sitting in an aisle seat reading the instructions on the barf bag when I noticed that I was stark raving naked. What Bob was trying to tell me was that we should all fly naked!

It could have some drawbacks I suppose. For instance a retiree flight to Florida could be pretty gruesome to sit through.

So why not check all luggage, no carry ons, and then have everybobdy fly naked!

TAX THE POOR

Friends, I don't want to be an alarmist, or a fear monger, or a Chicken Little, or a harbinger of gloom, but our country, this good ol' US of A ours, here, is in trouble. We are running out that most precious resource of all-- MONEY!

We could tax the rich out of existence, but we don't want to do that. We want lots of people to be rich. It's the poor people we're trying to get rid of. So let's tax the poor out of existence. Let's pass laws that put humongous taxes on the poor and pretty soon no one could afford to be poor anymore. (The Republicans have been using this plan for years.)

And if that doesn't work then we'll fine 'em for being poor. And if that doesn't work then we'll put 'em in jail and get all these poor people off the streets so the rich can get on with lootin' the banks and the S&Ls and pension plans and getting the contracts for re-building Handistan and Anacanapanistan, or whatever country we invade this week, the way Bob intended. And they'll be so many new jobs opening up for the middle class in accounting and prison guards and administration.

And the miracle of it is we'll pay for all of this with the taxes we put on the poor.

Whither the Minions?

Hidy Friends,

I'm not even sure what "whither" means. But it sounded old timey and I was kind of feeling that way lately. Kind of old. Kind of timey. But still, we must press on. Whether it is fake tatooes or fake fingernails. We must press on.

And oh how Bob would want us to be pressed. Not de pressed but be pressed. Once again, I only repeat what Bob tells me. I do not necessarily know what he means. But that wilt not stop me from interpreting that which hath not been previously known into a form or manner that which wilt benefit me untoward, dot com. And, yea, perhaps not post previously known. Remember, I got my doctoral degree from the Pink Divinity School of Everlasting Candy, so I know of what I speak. More or less.

And, although Bob speaks through me in paradoxyllelograms, I must always maintain a turgid stance for Bob, lest those who art less than rigid shalt fall into their own flacidness.

Which brings us to the problem at hand-- where are the Minions? I can remember when RevBob was followed like a regionl touring rock star. Why, I would have up to 2 free drinks and occassionaly free parking at some of my personal preaching appearances. Several semi-throngs* of fans and minions would hound me and clamour after me. But now, I am in the back-shadows of perhaps-never-was. I just hope you wilt tell others, and let them know that Bob lives.

Book Of Sheep

At the turn of the century, there were the Bobish and the Belch-- a simple Bob-paranoid people who made leisure time leather goods. A few thousand years before that, a people called the Bobooligans, led by their charismatic leader Bohunkus, were defeated by the Boblachites in the Battle of the Little Big Bob. They were arguing over whether or not Bob was using quality materials in the manufacture of his waterbeds. Bohunkus contended that Bob's Waterbed Showroom was little more than a rip off joint. The Boblachites claimed that Bohunkus would have no problem with his waterbed if he would stop sleeping with prong horn sheep. So Bob in his counter suit made it taboo to sleep with sheep.

Bob doesn't say you can't have sex with a sheep, just don't sleep with them.

Bob is here. Bob is there. Bob is...most places, I guess.

Tour of the New Nited States

As you know, I have been planning a grand tour of this country to rejuvenate the massives of people out there. And to bring people from all over, and all walks of life, and their money to me.

However, due to budget constraints, I've had to shorten my tour of the U. S., and so I've combined the itinerary of the states, so'st I may visit them all in much less time. First, I'll stop off in Indiallinois, Ohiowa, Arkansahoma, Delasota, Florigon, Alabraskassippi, Nevatexico, and North, South, and West Virkotalina.

Then I'll take a bus through Maingia, Michimissoutah, Washconsinton, Connectichusetts, Vermontana, York Island, and Colorfornia.

And finally, I'll be hitchhiking through Wydahoming, Marylvania, Halaskii, Kentessee, New Hampizona, and Loujersiana.

No representation without taxation

How many believes Bob's tellin' the truth? Then you'll believe this. If you wanta hear somethin' sacrilitigious, well, lemme tell ya that Rev. Bob's First Fried Church of Secular Humorism is a fully tax-liable pseudo-religious instimatution, and we're proud to pay our taxes, and we think all citizens, and corporations, and businesses-- including organized religions-- oughta pay their taxes, too. Because in this country religion is big business, and big business is religion.

And ya know, the Constitution says that we shouldn't give any special favors to any religious groups, but we tell 'em they don't have to pay no taxes. Now that sounds like a special preference to me.

Now, don't misunderhand me. I believe in separation of church and state (not a full divorce, just a separation). But there are some religious groups out there not payin' any taxes that are tryin' to tell the gov'ment what to do. Now, I'm not sayin' that we oughta tax 'em, 'cause they have to decide for themselves if they want to pay their fair share of taxes like everybobdy else. And if they don't want to pay 'em, that's fine,too-- but then they should butt the heck outa the gov'ment, 'cause in this country, there is no representation without taxation, saith Bob!

As you know, RevBob is not afraid of technology, but it's still at the point where I wouldn't want to have sex with it. Which leads me to this thing they call a "blog".
